I always have hate giving bad reviews for books especially books that are "fun reads" but this book I really struggled with and was very disappointed.  The concept was kind of neat a grease monkey girl meets the guy of her dreams.   The problem is the whole story is kind of odd.  It is supposed to take place in the real world but how everything comes about just doesn't fit.  Cindy Ellis is an orphan who lives with her aunt and uncle and her cousin in a small town.  She works in the garage (replacement for cleaning houses).  The cousin is annoying kind of like the step sister and wants the "prince" Henry and she has a best friend do her hair and makeup kind of like a fairy godmother.
When it started I was expecting high school age but alas they were a bit older.  They just acted so immature.  Usually with these stories I get something a laugh but I struggled.  There were some cute moments but just this book wasn't for me.

I really disliked how quickly the relationship progressed especially being a real life story.  You do not go from never talking to them to marrying them in a span of a couple months.  It was also kind of creepy he had his picture in the truck.
I think this book would of been much better maybe if it wasn't so rushed as a novella.

I received this audiobook in exchange for an honest review
  • Narrated by: Angie Hickman
  • Length: 2 hrs and 5 mins
  • Unabridged Audiobook
  • Release Date:04-20-17
  • Publisher: Jamie Thompson
Angie Hickman had a great drawl and fit the part of Cindee but she talked way to slow.  I had to increase the speed by 2 because I was having trouble following.  If it wasn't for the speed though I think she is great narrator for this roll.

Review: Everlasting Flame

Everlasting Flame (The Tainted Souls Trilogy Book 1) by [Anderson, Katelyn]

Amazon US

This book takes you on a ride of vengeance and the consequences of those actions. After her parents are brutally murdered in front of her, she must make a decision to take action to change the world for the better or to just forget it and deal with what has been dealt. She is being hunted and betrayed at every corner of her life, can she survive to change the world, or will darkness win and consume her soul?

spoilers ahead:

OK. so after her parents are killed, she decides to go against the agency and pretty much screw over her uncle that went out on a limb and protected her, saved her really. So she, of course, will choose the path that will darken her soul. Her Uncle respects her wishes and lets her go train with Cyrus. An assassin with vengeance on his mind also. So he takes her, makes her into a weapon, and puts her out in the world after killing hundreds of people in one day with Cyrus poison. Man that will make a great statement for a women non the less at her age.

When the Agency finally get their hands on her, they still have no idea the ticking time bomb on their hands. At least she is so far killing "criminals"and not innocent people.

When she finally learned of all the people there for her parents death, i was surprised of her forgiveness. they may of been unwilling pawns (unsure never was said in the book), not sure of the situation they walked in, but she is braver than me.

Her feelings for Cyrus, i think are more important than anything, this "man" is dangerous. i guess i would take what he calls his love and be on his good side than the bad. scary "man".  Dane her boss is a dick. plain and simple.

i think that i need to hear this prophecy they keep talking about. its been hinted at but not completely said.

I like how she leans on Lorenzo for comfort and they have explored their relationship and it works great, but when she could no longer be with him because of his magic, what about hers that is inside. i know it is "caged" up until later in life so she can take down the agency, but i wonder how she will cope with that.

When she lost it after the set up they knew they were walking into, and after her team died, (i was shocked by this one). I really like how dark she went, it showed how much you need other people in life to help balance you.

I still cant believe that he locked her mind down where she cant kill with out being in life or death, but she was out of control and instead of changing the world, she would destroy it. WTF, i want to know what this says. come on... i hate being curious and not getting an answer. well i will soon.

the second book releases soon, and i can not wait to see what happens, so we get to hear the prophocey?? does she rearrange her mind to make it like it was before?? so not patiently waiting for the next book. lets go.....

From New York Times Bestselling Author, J.C. Reed, and USA Today Bestselling Author, Jackie Steele, comes a new standalone novel.

Kaiden Wright and I were never supposed to be roommates.
I was clingy, he was a manwhore. I lived to love, and he lived to play. I dreamed of a white picket fence, and he strived for success.

We couldn’t be more different. Me, a normal nurse, he a successful CEO. I wanted to love while he wanted to run. Yet, despite all our differences, we had one thing in common. We both fought hard for what we wanted.

Kaiden Wright wasn’t my future, and I wasn’t his past, but we had moments. Moments that defined us. Moments that felt as though the present was ours and ours only.
Maybe it wasn’t about ending up together.
Maybe it wasn’t about loving someone so deeply you would do anything for them without expecting anything in return.

We were pulled into each other’s lives like magnets, close enough to kiss, close enough to touch. Stolen secret moments that changed our lives forever.

What will happen when our borrowed time is over?

Author’s note – Counting On You is a full-length, standalone novel with no cliffhanger.

Review: Real Deal by Piper Rayne

Wow, just wow. I was in a rut with reading books. Seemed like it was all bluring togther until i found this book. To me it is a short story (once i got going i couldn't stop), that was perfectly balanced.

You start of by meeting the HOT SINGLE DAD. you heard me right. Single Dad. As a former single mom (getting married on Halloween), I know how hard it is to find a guy who understands (took me three years after i left my sons dad to find someone.). But this guy has got it together. HOT, A DAD, oh and did i mention makes a girl dripping yet by his looks. You meet this bunch of awesome characters in Climax Cove (yeah sign me up), where there is a camp specified for kids who are being cared for by their dad. A summer camp that only ones allowed in are single dads kids (again, where is this so i can take a look). There we meet our camp consular, who we just happen to have back story with (some juicy stuff it seems), and she has to be the camp consular for his daughter. And you can guess right by saying things get steamy this summer with this novel. Loved the story, love the characters that will be introduced more in the coming months.

please check this one out. really good book.

this book i read almost straight so the reactions that you will get will be the following:

really now... i saw that... damn, he did not just say that... man i want a unicorn cupcake now... oh snap, he went there, smack him, smack him... dripping wet, where is my fiance.. oh shit, this guy needs to be punched... oh man, yes yes yes... oh no, shit, dont get cornered, oh well, you tried... you go girl... heck yes, thats what i am talking about... finally, jesus took long enough.. god he is clueless, problay best lay there is too, quite types usually are... man, she is going to have to make the move... the end...

not all of those are in order, but everyone one of those i said out loud and made me explain the book many many times.
